2007 Honda CBF600s review

The Honda CBF600s is probably one of the last "classic conception" bikes, with carburetors, classic instruments and naked bike look. I bought it as being the most similar Honda bike to my old CB750 Nighthawk . As you guessed, I'm one of the guys that thinks a bike should be an engine on a frame and 2 wheels and nothing more.

The CBF600s is a motorcycle that looks like a motorcycle, runs like a motorcycle and sounds like a motorcycle. You can clearly see the naked engine (painted in black) and the 4 exhaust pipes, stating is a Honda inline four.

Starting up the engine in the morning makes you remember it runs on carburetors. It's a cold blooded beast that needs a little choke and a generous warming up time - so different from the fuel injected bikes, but so "classy" in the same time.

Suspensions are a little hard on bumpy roads (although the rear single shock absorber is adjustable) but the bikes sticks to the road very well. Off-road capabilities are not so great and also the ground clearance is a not very generous while not on tarmac.
Riding position is "human", and moreover the seat, and handle bars are adjustable (one size fits all strategy from Honda).

On the other hand the seat is really hard and uncomfortable - it's a real pain after 150 km. Unfortunately no replacement seats are yet available (I would gladly pay for a Corbin seat).

Braking is acceptable (I don't have ABS, but it's available on a more expensive version) and even if you block the rear wheel, the bike is so well balanced that is easy to recover from any hard braking.
